Smile Line Filler: A Simple Guide

2 min read

Smile lines are the creases that run from the sides of your nose to the corners of your mouth. Everyone has them, and they tend to deepen with expression and time.

What the filler does

A small amount of hyaluronic acid filler softens the line and reduces the shadow it casts, so your face looks a little more rested. It doesn't erase the line, and we wouldn't want it to. A smile without any lines looks unnatural.

Who it's for

People whose smile lines have started to feel heavier than they'd like. Sometimes the cheeks are really the cause, since they help support the area above the lines. When that's the case, we may suggest supporting the cheeks first, which can soften the lines with less product.

What results look like

Subtle. You look rested, your smile still looks like yours, and people notice you look well without knowing why. If anyone can tell it's filler, it's too much.

How long it lasts

Often many months to a year, depending on you and the product. It's temporary, and it can be dissolved if needed.

Is it right for you?

The only way to know is to look at your whole face. Neeki will tell you honestly if filler is a fit, if something else would suit you better, or if you'd be happiest leaving things as they are.

We're always glad to talk it through in Carlsbad Village, with no pressure to treat anything.

FAQ

Does it hurt? The area is numbed, and most people feel mild pressure.

Will it make me look overfilled? Not when it's done conservatively. The goal is softening, not fullness.

Can it be dissolved? Yes, with hyaluronidase, if needed.
