What’s the scoop on Sculptra?

You want to boost your collagen but don’t know how? Well, that’s where Sculptra can be your bestie! Let’s get one thing straight before we dive in, sculptra is not an alternative to filler. It contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible synthetic substance that stimulates collagen production. Since the main ingredient in Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), It’s classified as a collagen stimulator (not a filler) that provides long-lasting, natural-looking results that can last up to two years. Sculptra can be used to treat deep lines, creases, and folds to give a more youthful appearance. As we age we tend to have fat pad loss in our face, Sculptra is also a good alternative to assist in rejuvenating and awakening the skin from aging.

It takes 6-8 weeks to begin seeing the results after receiving a Sculptra treatment because this is meant to work on aiding in collagen building once it’s injected into the treatment area. Some results can be seen after just one treatment depending on your end goals and area of concern. However, this treatment typically requires three session, but that is determined by the provider you choose to see.

Since this is a non invasive treatment, there is absolutely no downtime. You may experience redness, swelling or bruising to the affected area after the procedure is complete. Keep in mind, as stated above it does take time to see results, unlike filler which has more of an ‘instant gratification‘ result. If you are considering this treatment, consult with a medical professional to see what is recommended and if you are an appropriate candidate for this treatment.
